Georges Ekwensi,BS, MPA, a risk management and compliance expert, financial manager and corporate executive with over 25 years of experience, was a Senior Associates at Sogato Strategies, and currently Senior Vice president at HPierson Associates.
Professional Life:
From 2010 to 2015 he was Vice-President and then Senior Vice-President for Risk Management and Chief Compliance Officer of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria, the “bad bank” established at the initiative of the Central Bank of Nigeria to absorb and manage toxic assets from Nigerian commercial banks and recapitalize weak banks as part of Nigeria‘s financial architecture after the global financial crisis. As AMCON’s chief Risk and Compliance Officer, Mr. Ekwensi set the corporation’s risk management vision, strategy and risk appetite, worked with AMCON’s Board of Directors to gain board-level approval of risk strategy and coordinated enterprise risk assessments and risk mitigation plans for AMCON. Mr. Ekwensi was president and CEO of GECO Group, Inc., a finance and accounting services firm in the United States. He was a Senior Executive at Allied Home Mortgage Capital Corporation, and a Comptroller at Township of Montclair Public Library, New Jersey. He obtained the Master of Public Administration (MFA) degree at the Fairleigh Dickinson University and holds a BS in Accounting and Business Administration.
